You are an inspiration towards sustainable development goals in Barbados and the world! As part of our network, you are the first to view and be invited to participate in testing aspects of our BitEgreen technology towards the community’s benefit and ultimately its successful launch.
Waste affects ecosystem goods and services essential for things like food, climate regulation and a thriving tourism sector, resulting in great economic losses. This damage to ecosystems also contributes to health problems related to carbon emissions and loss of available carbon sinks. The use of chemical, rather than organic fertilizers inland can result in nutrient pollution within our oceans causing fish to die, and coral bleaching. Additionally, a country with high imports, also generates waste throughout the journey of each product purchased globally. Worldwide, only about 9% of recyclable material is used in new products, and the rest is left to contribute to the problems mentioned, including 45% of global greenhouse gases contributing to Climate Change. The other 55% is directly related to our energy sources.
We have developed a user-friendly yet innovative solution and believe you can benefit and play a significant role in its success by working together.
How it works:
The solution is a system managed on a web platform and app called BitEgreen (pronounced Bit-E-green). BitEgreen’s technology enhances efficiency, by diverting waste used to make new products by working with each company and individual playing their part. It manages wasted energy and unhealthy actions – not just solid waste, but also other aspects of the Circular, Green or Blue Economy value chain.
Community Advantages:
Essentially, BitEgreen Market (i.e. full name of the solution) is a behaviour modification system that:
- integrates environmental preservation and other sustainable development goals into daily actions;
- incentivizes wider participation to engage those not involved in such activities; and to increase the impact, by providing rewards that appeal to a broader cross section of society;
- while also being mindful of public education; and
- green or Environmental Social Governance (ESG) verification.
- In this mission, we innovate through technology to value sustainable actions and reusable & recyclable material; inform on related best practices; and increase productivity, revenue and savings for all; –with convenience and the additional thrill of gamification.
Additionally, BitEgreen’s system allows poor and vulnerable populations to receive products, services and cooked meals at a lesser price or for free to aid in waste management. It is also designed to include persons without daily access to technology nor transportation.
